Boys room.

I would have done a post earlier on the kids rooms, but I was not happy with them...... so I didn't!
Today the kids and I spent most of Sunday sorting their room out!

The weird black chairs are their babies! You plug your PSP into them, and you can rock while you listen to the surround sound of the game!
They are extremely happy!

Formal Lounge

This is definately my favourite room. Probably because of the rich burgandy/red colour and the fireplace which we use everynight in winter.

Family Bathroom

The family bathroom in this house is size challenged ! And it does not have a bath! We could have extended the room and fitted one in, but we made a decision at the beginning of this house project that we were not going to increase the square meterage!
It has a shower behind the door on the left.

Learning Room.

We are using the fourth bedroom as the learning room! Here it is before.............

and here it is after .................... looking very full and busy!

A useful nook........

I hate to admit it......... but here goes...... My littlest one still boards in our room! There, I said it!
This nook has come in very handy, but I'm sure prospective buyers could use it as a computor or sewing area.

Master Bedroom Reveal.....

I would have shown you the master bedroom earlier,......... but it was still harbouring some excess clutter. This morning I got stuck into this room and made it worthy of a reveal!

Let's be honest...... it does need a few more interesting pieces of furniture and a little more colour. I am a colour freak......... but when it comes to doing up houses and selling them, ..... you have to think of resale...resale...resale...and the general market!

So we have stuck to the beige/cream scheme on purpose.

A sad area comes to life!

If only you could have seen the garden of this neglected house that we bought! There was NO grass just dog crapola EVERYWHERE!! The plants were crying out for water and soft words..... yip, I walked (and still do) around the garden and told them how I loved them so and how proud I was of their growth!!!!

We did not have to plant much in this area. We just had to administer time, water and 3 fun loving kids to complete the picture!

First appearances are important....... with houses that is!

Okay... so this house really comes short in the "first appearance" category.Driving down the driveway, you do not get that feeling of " I can't wait to see inside". No quite the opposite!
This is what the lead up to the front door looked like in March 2006........

This is what it looked like in November 2006..............................
The roses to the right are full of buds. The wooden trellises break the heavy concrete look!

Below...... was what you saw as you drove through the front gates......

This is a much better reception.....AGREED?

What would this posting be without a pic of my little girl smelling the lavender?

We still need to work a lot more on the house's "first appearance". But that I will cover in another post!

Tennis court resurfacing

The tennis court was a shocker...... the boys would use it as their mountain bike track!

The boys and I enjoy tennis...... we're desperate for Hubby to join us on the court! We promised not to laugh!

Due to a lot of rain, the resurfacing took 2 weeks to complete. We are very happy with the result!

Swimming Pool overhaul!

In Jan 2006 we bought a VERY unloved and neglected house. In 2 months we basically stripped it to it's shell, knocked through a few walls, put in a new kitchen, layed new flooring throughout and are still in the process of tranforming it into a beautiful home.
So here is the Swimming Pool BEFORE............

The pool had been empty for 5 years and was badly cracked. Here it is AFTER we fibre glassed it and installed a new pump...............

Kitchen Renovation

I wanted to share with you, some of the renovations Hubby and I have done to our present house. Older readers may have seen this before! We bought this house in Jan 2006.We gutted the whole inside, knocked out a few interior walls and 2 months on we moved in. Somewhere in between these words, we did a WHOLE LOT of work to it.First we did the kitchen. Before...........................

After....................

We chose a very neutral scheme for resale purposes.
